I was blown away when I opened the bag - I could sit here for hours smelling the intense, fresh citrus aroma. It's really impressive. I know they're lemons, but the scent I get from the bag is of a perfectly ripe orange, straight off the tree.
I got them primarily for cocktails, and they're really convenient for that. However, so far what I've found is that the *flavor* they add is much more subtle than their scent. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if you want a very obvious citrus flavor in your drink, I'd opt for a fresh lemon or orange. I tested them in bourbon, which was quite nice. However, even after a few minutes I was mostly just getting the original flavors of the bourbon.
So, I'd say the primary uses for these lovely dried lemon slices are:
(1) Just to smell. Honestly. They're so nice!
(2) Give them a bit more time to linger with your spirit by making an infusion (letting them soak in the alcohol for a day or more).
(3) as a garnish in a cocktail or beverage. They add a really nice aesthetic to a drink.
In particular, I think these would go very nicely with gin (maybe even as an infusion), or to garnish an old fashioned!
